AlmaU University is actively engaged in solving the problem of poverty, which corresponds to Sustainable Development Goal 1 (No poverty). As part of its social responsibility, the university implements many initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the population and increasing its educational level.
Almaty Management University (AlmaU) recognizes the importance of ensuring that higher education is accessible to students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. To support low-income students and reduce financial barriers to education, AlmaU may provide a range of assistance and resources, including:

Types of grants and discounts of the Almaty Management University
Social grants and discounts: Orphans and students left without parental care are provided with a 100% discount for the entire period of study, taking into account academic performance requirements, students with disabilities of the first (I) and second (II) groups, (students from large families; students whose parents have an established disability of the first (I) and second (II) groups; students from poor families; for the loss of a breadwinner.
Motivating grants and discounts: Students from the same family studying at the Almaty Management University, graduates of the College of MAB LLP, grants to applicants participating in the AlmaU Open Cup chess tournament, for graduates of the University’s strategic partners training courses (EdTech, Unidem), ASU ALMA (formerly the SchoolZeynep”), discounts on sports achievements, winners and prize-winners of the annual competition for the student award “Altyn Tamga”.
Motivating discounts on sports achievements: There is a 100%, 30%, 15% discount for champions, masters of sports, Olympic medalists and partners.
Discounts / grants to employees, teaching staff and their family members.
Discounts of the Marketing Department: during the admission campaign, the Marketing Department conducts events and promotions in order to provide grants and discounts: Mega Chance, Daryn, International Fund for the Promotion of Education in the CIS.

In order to reduce the financial burden on students, the tuition payment policy was changed. The annual tuition fee is divided into 6 tranches. Quotas for admission to a university are a certain number of places allocated by the state for specific categories of applicants. Quotas help to ensure equal access to education in Kazakhstan.
Quotas: Persons equated by benefits and guarantees to war veterans and war invalids
Disabled people of groups I and II over the age of 18
Disabled from childhood and children with disabilities under 18 years of age
Orphaned students and those left without parental care
Students from the countryside
Students of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Students from families with four or more minor children
Students from single-parent families who have had this status for at least three years
Students from families raising children with disabilities since childhood, persons with disabilities of I, II groups
For the 2023-2024 academic year, 171 students with quotas were accepted.
In the 2023-2024 academic year, AlmaU awarded scholarships and discounts to more than 300 students, including 229 scholarships and discounts for students with disabilities or from socially vulnerable families.
Also in 2023, 7 grants were allocated for the entire academic period for residents of Atyrau, Aktobe, Akmola, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar regions
The University provides support (housing, legal services) to students from low-income families for graduation. Upon admission to AlmaU, 1st year students indicate whether they need a dormitory. The university’s Infrastructure Department collects student lists and monitors the provision of dorms. AlmaU’s student infrastructure includes a Student Support and Mentoring Counseling Center, where students can seek any advice on academic (in conjunction with the School administration), financial (in conjunction with accounting) and legal issues (legal department).
