International Scientific and Practical Conference
“Industrial policy and development of manufacturing industry: New methodologies, international experience and concepts for Kazakhstan”
Dear colleagues!
Almaty Management University (AlmaU) invites you to participate in this conference to be held on October 12, 2024.
The purpose and topics of the Conference:
In the context of rapidly changing economic realities and global challenges, Kazakhstan needs to develop and implement a new industrial policy aimed at accelerated development of the manufacturing industry. This requires a comprehensive approach that considers both national and international trends. In this regard, the conference aims to bring together researchers, experts, representatives of business and public authorities to discuss topical issues and develop effective solutions in the following areas:
The conference will create a platform for open exchange of opinions and search for optimal ways of development of manufacturing industry in Kazakhstan. The discussions will cover both theoretical and practical aspects, thus providing the basis for future reforms and strategic initiatives. Participation of leading Kazakhstani and foreign experts will ensure a high level of discussions and suggestions.
The work of the conference is planned in the following sections:
The conference is held within the framework of the program on the development of a new industrial policy of Kazakhstan, aimed at accelerated development of manufacturing industries. The results of the conference will be published in the Collection of reports in electronic form.
Form of the conference: online/offline (in the form of oral presentations using PowerPoint (ppt) format). The deadline for submission of presentations, papers and registration forms is October 6, 2024 (inclusive). According to the results of the conference an electronic collection of conference materials will be formed and sent to the e-mail addresses of the participants indicated in the registration form.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject materials:
– not meeting the requirements to the content and design or sent later the deadline;
– not checked for plagiarism; the originality of the text should be at least 80% of the volume of the presentation;

The Department of Science and Development organized winter research seminars from 14 to 15 January 2019 with the participation of internal and external experts. The purpose of the research seminar is to improve the skills of research activities.
The program consisted of the following seminars:
- Skills in working with the Web of Science platform and the author’s publication strategy (searching for articles, how to publish an article in an international journal),
- Choosing a topic for research work and selecting international scientific journals and conferences
- Research methodology: qualitative methods
- Using the Springerlink platform to conduct research, how to avoid predatory journals and publish work in top-rated foreign journals
- Conducting a literature review and using peer-reviewed sources

Seminar speaker Irina Alexandrova, License Manager of Springer Nature Kazakhstan, explained to the seminar participants the principles of operation of the interactive database of journals, book series, books, reference materials and archives of Springer for researchers and scientists.
Training seminar on the use of Scopus
On November 06, 2017, the Center for Scientific Research organized another training seminar on the topic “How to use Scopus?”, as a continuation of scientific events planned for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Aliya Ospanova, Regional Director of ELSEVIER Kazakhstan, acted as a speaker.
The speaker spoke about the basic principles of operation and key tools for using the Scopus database.

On October 20, 2017, the Center for Scientific Research organized and held a training seminar on the topic: “The International information platform Web of Science for scientists and researchers AlmaU”, this is the first event in a series of planned seminars for the 2017-2018 academic year, which was held in the Knowledge Building.
The speaker of the seminar was Lyaziza Mukasheva, Clarivate Analytics expert on information resources and educational programs in the CIS countries.
