AlmaU Becomes the First University to Sign a Memorandum with Techno Women

16.03.2023

On March 15, 2023, the second forum “Techno Women Central Asia: Believe in Yourself!” took place at Almaty Management University, dedicated to discussing the most pressing issues of women’s entrepreneurship in the IT sector. The forum featured prominent and successful women from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

Let us remind you that Techno Women is a non-profit organization that unites women working in technological industries such as IT, digital, telecom, new media, Fintech, Edutech, Healthtech, Biotech, Ecotech, Nanotech, Robotics, and space technologies.

The mission of the organization is to open new opportunities for girls and women in the digital world, while its goal is to increase the number of women in technological fields and promote the development of female entrepreneurship.

One of the key events of the forum was a roundtable discussion between members of the association and universities on the topic “Universities and Technological Business: Practices for Effective Interaction.”

As noted by Aziza Shuzheeva, President of the Techno Women Association, the goal of the forum is to demonstrate to women in Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries the pathways for development in the IT sector, as well as the importance of adaptability and flexibility in the modern world. In this process of transforming women’s consciousness, universities play a crucial role.

“Today, we all listened with great interest to the experts’ presentations, were inspired by the success stories of young entrepreneurs, and learned how many ideas women can generate with just a little support to bring their visions to life. However, to achieve truly profound changes in women’s thinking and to reach a broader audience, it is very important to instill confidence in girls regarding their abilities and equip them with modern knowledge of IT technologies. In this sense, cooperation with leading universities in our country is undoubtedly extremely important. Given that we are all working towards a common goal, it is also crucial to have the opportunity to discuss these issues,” she said.

“The synergy created through the collaboration of public organizations, academic representatives, media, and other stakeholders can shift the situation in favor of women. Their talent, creativity, and energy should be harnessed for the benefit of our country and the entire region,” emphasized the rector of AlmaU.

As a result of the roundtable discussion, AlmaU became the first university to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Techno Women association, further confirming that AlmaU is a driver of entrepreneurship and societal development.
