On May 19, 2025, within the framework of the Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation between the Department of Judicial Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Almaty and Almaty Management University (AlmaU), the School of Politics and Law held a field-based practical event for first-year bachelor’s and second-year technical and vocational education (TVET) students of the “Law” educational program.
Practice Base:
The event was held at Almaly District Court No. 2 of Almaty, with the support of the Head of the Court Office — Y.K. Bimakaev.
Topic:
“Mediation Before and During Court” was the central theme of the session, studied as part of the “Mediation” course. The focus was on building practical competencies of future lawyers in the area of alternative dispute resolution.
Key Participants:
Judges of Almaly District Court No. 2 — K.T. Utebaev and G.B. Aitzhanova — acted as practitioner experts and introduced students to the organization and application mechanisms of the mediation process at different stages of judicial proceedings.
Program Highlights:

Discussion of procedural aspects — from filing a lawsuit to drafting documents in reconciliation procedures;

Demonstration of digital document management and filing through e-justice platforms.
Additional Session:
Special attention was paid to the topic “Employment in the Judicial System of Almaty.” Students learned about the qualifications required, the process of entering public service, and career prospects in the judicial field.
Outcomes:
The introductory practice became a significant step in developing professional thinking among law students. It allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world context, ask questions to professionals, and receive valuable recommendations.
Such activities strengthen the link between academic legal education and practical legal application, helping to prepare competitive professionals who are ready to meet real challenges in the legal field.
