AlmaU and Dassault Systèmes signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of industrial digitalization in Kazakhstan

13.10.2025

On October 13, 2025, Almaty Management University (AlmaU) hosted a meeting between the university’s leadership and a delegation from Dassault Systèmes, joined by the head of the Robotics Laboratory of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The main goal of the meeting was to establish a strategic partnership in technology transfer and collaboration, as well as to unite efforts in advancing industrial digitalization in Kazakhstan. The parties discussed prospects for implementing joint R&D projects based on the needs of domestic industrial companies.

In his welcoming remarks, AlmaU First Vice-Rector Timur Buldibaev stated:
“This year, our university is entering a new stage of development. While AlmaU has long been known as a business university, we are now actively expanding into new areas – mechanical engineering, business twins, and robotics. It is a great honor for us to sign a memorandum with Dassault Systèmes, as this agreement will help us achieve our goals in industrial development and innovation.”

In turn, Giovanni Riggio, Managing Director for the European Region at Dassault Systèmes, noted:
“I always enjoy visiting universities because this is where the next generation of professionals is shaped. Our company is not just an IT enterprise – we are a science-driven technology organization, as all our solutions are based on scientific approaches. We develop software tailored to the specific needs of enterprises and apply a consultative approach to deeply understand our clients’ requirements.”

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between AlmaU and Dassault Systèmes. The document was signed by AlmaU First Vice-Rector Timur Buldibaev and Ilyas Amirkhanov, General Director of Dassault Systèmes for Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The implementation of the memorandum will be carried out in partnership with Astana Motors and the Robotics Laboratory of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, enabling the integration of academic and industrial potential to promote digital solutions and foster innovation in Kazakhstan’s industrial sector.

Following the signing ceremony, Dassault Systèmes representatives conducted a technical seminar for AlmaU faculty and staff, presenting practical case studies of digital solutions.

In the near future, AlmaU will launch the Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence in Industry, which will serve as a platform for implementing advanced technologies and fostering collaboration with international industrial partners. Together with companies like Dassault Systèmes, the university aims to contribute to the development of an innovative ecosystem and to advance Kazakhstan’s path toward industrial and technological progress.
