On February 12, 2026, the official signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between AlmaU University and JSC “Insurance Company” Freedom Finance Insurance took place, with the support of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market. The partnership is aimed at creating a sustainable ecosystem of interaction between the university, students, and employers.
The key objective of this strategic partnership is to train in-demand specialists for Kazakhstan’s insurance and financial markets through practice-oriented education and the implementation of a scholarship program.

Under the agreement, a comprehensive program is planned for implementation over the next five years, focusing on three key areas:
- the selection and support of the best students through a system of competitive testing and academic selection, providing grant support of up to 100% and access to partner-specific opportunities;
- the development of a minor program for students in financial-economic, IT, and analytical fields, including the launch of specialized courses in insurance, financial analytics, and data science with the participation of experts from Freedom Finance Insurance. This will ensure the acquisition of practical skills and hands-on experience with real-world cases;
- the establishment of a specialized master’s program with a focus on the insurance business, investment activities, and financial technologies.
The Chairman of the Board of JSC “Insurance Company” Freedom Finance Insurance, Azamat Kerimbaev, noted that the insurance sector demonstrates growth potential and requires new human resource solutions: “Today, the market needs not only actuaries but also lawyers, IT specialists, analysts, insurance product developers, and financial data professionals. The anticipated update of legislation and the synchronization of the financial sector will create additional demand for qualified specialists, and the joint initiative of the university and business will help address the workforce shortage.”
The President of AlmaU, Assylbek Kozhakmetov, emphasized the effectiveness of the new model of education-business collaboration: “We are convinced that a modern university must work closely with employers, forming in students not only fundamental knowledge but also practical competencies that are in demand in the market.”

The joint program will create a sustainable ecosystem for training personnel for Kazakhstan’s insurance and financial sectors, unlock the potential of talented students, and provide the industry with a new generation of specialists. The partners view the cooperation as a long-term investment in human capital. It is planned that experts from Freedom Finance Insurance will participate in the educational process, conduct specialized courses, and lead practice-oriented sessions. AlmaU University, in turn, will provide the academic foundation, methodological support, and monitoring of program implementation quality. The parties expressed confidence that the joint program will make a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s insurance market and strengthen AlmaU’s position as one of the leading universities in the country.
