Rector of AlmaU, Buldybayev Timur Kerimbekovich, took part in the II Forum of Rectors of Kazakhstani and Azerbaijani universities, held in Almaty within the framework of the international educational initiative “Study in Azerbaijan.”
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, and the Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev.
The forum program included plenary speeches by the ministers, presentations and brief reports by rectors of leading universities from both countries, as well as a signing ceremony of cooperation agreements. As part of the forum, participants also visited the “Study in Azerbaijan” education exhibition aimed at promoting Azerbaijan’s academic opportunities.
The forum served as an important platform for strengthening academic partnerships, developing joint educational programs, expanding academic mobility, and enhancing scientific collaboration between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Such initiatives contribute to the internationalization of higher education in Kazakhstan, the expansion of global partnerships, and the increasing competitiveness of universities.
Within the framework of the forum, AlmaU signed three cooperation agreements with leading universities of Azerbaijan:
• Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University (ATMU)
• Nakhchivan State University
• Baku Eurasian University
The signed agreements open up new opportunities for student and faculty exchange, as well as for the implementation of joint educational programs and research projects.
