From April 6 to 10, 2026, AlmaU will host AlmaU Research Impact Week – a series of events dedicated to developing research competencies and discussing current issues in evaluating scientific activity.
The Science Week program includes masterclasses, seminars, and workshops covering key aspects of modern research practice. On April 6, the program opens with the seminar “Digital Footprints in Socio-Economic Research: Opportunities, Limitations, and Methodological Challenges,” led by Aisulu Moldabekova, PhD, Head of the “Zertteu LAB” at the Institute of Economics of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On April 7, a workshop titled “Using Scopus and Other Elsevier Tools for Writing a Successful Article” will be held by Rabiga Kozhamkul, Informascope Consultant for Central Asia.
On April 8, a masterclass on writing grant applications for the commercialization of scientific projects will be conducted by Doszhan Akalim, Deputy Director of MashSvar LLP and an expert in commercialization.
The week’s flagship event, the AlmaU Research Impact Dialogue, will take place on April 9 in the AI LAB. This platform will bring together experts, researchers, and scientific community members to discuss the role of research impact today. The discussion will focus on the influence of quantitative metrics on scientific development, the balance between publication activity and real research contribution, and the search for more meaningful approaches to evaluating scientific results.
On April 10, the Science Week will conclude with the masterclass “Academic Integrity in the Age of AI: How the Antiplagiat System Helps Authors and Reviewers,” led by Olga Filippova, Leading Specialist at the Antiplagiat Training and Methodology Center, followed by a student research project competition organized by the Young Researchers Lab.
Faculty, researchers, doctoral candidates, graduate, and undergraduate students interested in advancing science and improving research quality are invited to participate.
