Executive MBA Students from Zhejiang University Visited AlmaU

On August 21–22, 2025, AlmaU hosted a delegation of 21 participants from the Executive MBA program of the School of Management, Zhejiang University (China).

On August 21, the guests visited the AlmaU campus, attended lectures delivered by leading and invited experts of the Graduate School of Business, and explored the international company Hikvision Kazakhstan, based in Almaty.

The delegation was led by Professor Hong DU, Director of the EMBA Program Office at Zhejiang University, Professor Yuan ZHU, Chair of the Development Committee of the School of Management at Zhejiang University, and Ms. Siqiong HONG, Administrative Director of the EMBA Program. Organizational support was provided by Ms. Nian TONG, International Program Management, EMBA Program Office.

Welcoming the delegation, Assylbek Kozhakhmetov, Founder and Rector of AlmaU, emphasized:

“It is a great honor for us to host such a distinguished delegation from one of the world’s leading business schools – the School of Management of Zhejiang University. For the first time, our campus welcomes such a large group of MBA students from China, including successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and business leaders from Zhejiang Province, one of the most dynamic and innovative regions of China. Your visit is not only an exchange of knowledge but also a symbol of how education and business can serve as bridges between our countries. We hope that your time in Kazakhstan will bring new projects, partnerships, and memorable experiences.”

On August 21, the participants attended lectures and master classes delivered by AlmaU faculty and business representatives:

  • Akmarl Altaliyeva, PhD, Professor of Practice at GSB AlmaU, Fulbright Scholar (USA) — “ESG Unpacked: Strategic Importance and Implementation Challenges”;
  • Olzhas Onalov, Deputy General Director for Commerce and Development at Eastcomtrans LLP, and Dauren Bereketov, Director for Development and GR at Eastcomtrans LLP — “Logistics of Central Asia and China: Trans-Caspian International Transport Route”;
  • Natalia Kuzetova, Professor of Practice at GSB AlmaU, Kaizen Project Consultant, Lean/Kaizen expert, Founder of the Center for Operational Excellence Gemba Point“Kaizen/Lean: Philosophy, Principles of Success, Business Context and Change Management”.

On August 22, the group visited InDrive company. The program also included cultural activities, sightseeing in Almaty, and informal networking with Kazakhstani colleagues.

AlmaU extends its sincere gratitude to the delegation of Zhejiang University for their visit, and to our speakers for their invaluable contribution to fostering international academic and business cooperation. AlmaU highlights with gratitude the openness of Hikvision Kazakhstan, InDrive and Eastcomtrans companies and their willingness to share best practices and present their business to foreign guests.

The Graduate School of Business at AlmaU continues to serve as a platform for global knowledge exchange, the promotion of entrepreneurial education, and the strengthening of partnerships between Kazakhstan and China.
