On December 10, 2025, AlmaU hosted a warm and inspiring Urban Meet-up dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the AlmaU Institute of Urban Studies.
The event brought together students, alumni, faculty, partners, and colleagues who have shaped and supported the Institute’s development since its early days.
The evening opened with a presentation of the Institute’s key achievements over the past five years. The team summarized its progress: launching and updating academic programs, increasing the number of research and project initiatives, participating in international competitions, expanding partnerships, and celebrating the first notable successes of its graduates. This became an important starting point of the meet-up, highlighting the Institute’s dynamic growth.
The program continued with a PPT show by students and alumni in a short-presentation format. Participants shared their stories: why they chose urban studies, what their education at AlmaU gave them, what projects they worked on, and what professional steps they are taking today. The show vividly demonstrated how students apply their knowledge to real urban challenges.
The evening concluded with the premiere of a documentary film about student life at the AlmaU Institute of Urban Studies. The film conveyed the campus atmosphere, the learning process, field project trips, emotions, challenges, and joys that accompany students along their professional journey.
It became a powerful visual highlight of the evening and a meaningful addition to the student stories.
