On February 9, the School of Media and Film at AlmaU held a meeting of its Advisory Board, bringing together leaders of the creative industries, media and PR professionals, industry experts, and alumni of the School’s academic programs.
The discussion included representatives of leading companies and platforms: Assel Karaulova (NASO), Igor Vorobyev (Kinopoisk), Anara Zhunussova (Unico Play), Dina Zhumabek (Medeor), Saniya Serikova (Yandex Kazakhstan), as well as alumni Nazym Darzhanova (Most Media Group), Elmira Azilzhan, and Mira Abdrakhmanova.
Representing the School were Dean Anara Sekeyeva and faculty members Ekaterina Korabayeva, Efrat Sharipov, and Irina Khan.
The Advisory Board serves as a key expert body shaping the strategic development of the School’s academic programs. Its mission is to ensure their alignment with current industry demands and to maintain high standards in professional training.

During the meeting, priority areas for program updates were identified. Experts proposed launching a new Master’s program in “Media Producing” and initiated a comprehensive upgrade of the Digital Filmmaking program. The curriculum will be structured by levels, enabling students to progressively build professional competencies and design a conscious career path.
In addition, the “Public Relations” program is updating its learning tracks in line with modern industry standards and practices. The School also emphasized its strategic goal of preparing specialists востребованных in both the corporate and public sectors.
The meeting became an important platform for professional dialogue, exchange of expertise, and decision-making aimed at the sustainable development of academic programs and strengthening the School’s partnership with the industry.
