For the second year, AlmaU has hosted an international guest lecture series on postcolonialism, geopolitics, and regional development, supported by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia). From January to April 2025, 1st year students of the “International Relations and Economics” program attended 16 lectures by scholars from the USA, South Korea, Hong Kong, the UK, and Spain as well as leading Kazakhstani scholars on postcolonialism from Nazarbayev University. Topics ranged from global power dynamics and Silk Road narratives to video games and R&D.
The course was led by Dr. Azhar Serikkaliyeva, Associate Professor at the School of Politics and Law. The course of the project was carried out in accordance with the Confirmation Letter that AlmaU submitted to the Foundation in 2024, as well as in accordance with the Notice of Decision of the Foundation dated September 13, 2024.
