At the 23rd Asia Masters Athletics Championship, which took place from November 5 to 9, 2025 in Chennai, India, 71-year-old athlete Tulegen Kozhakhmetov showed amazing form and achieved brilliant results in his age category.
The championship was held under the aegis of Asia Masters Athletics with the support of the Masters Athletics Federation of India. This international movement brings together athletes aged 35 and older – both amateurs and former professionals – who continue to compete and inspire others.
Masters competitions include all the classic athletics disciplines – running, jumping, and throwing – but their philosophy goes beyond sports: it’s about promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among adults and seniors.

In his personal medal collection, Tulegen Kozhakhmetov added five new achievements:
🏆 Gold – 400 m
🥈 Two silver medals – 200 m and 4×400 m relay
🥉 Two bronze medals – 100 m and 4×100 m relay
Tulegen Kozhakhmetov is a bright example that sport has no age. He actively competes in triathlons and marathons, enjoys mountaineering, and keeps inspiring young people by his own example. His story proves that the power of spirit and love for movement can break any limits.
AlmaU also actively supports social and sports initiatives. That’s why the university’s activist team met the athlete at the airport with warm congratulations and loud applause!

By the way, AlmaU has been a partner for the “Lyzhnia Musina-Ivanova” ski race for three years in a row. The event will take place this December in the village of Lobanovo, Ayyrtau district, North Kazakhstan region.
The main goal of the race is to promote skiing, involve young people in active initiatives, and strengthen the region’s sports traditions. Among the participants will be the legendary athlete, Olympic champion, and four-time world champion Vladimir Smirnov.
AlmaU is proud of its heroes and supports the movement for an active, healthy, and inspiring life!
