Quality Assurance Office

Description

The Quality Assurance Office provides strategic and methodological support for the internal quality assurance system in education. The main areas of the Office’s activity include the development and implementation of mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating academic programs, support of accreditation processes, and promotion of the continuous improvement of the university’s educational environment in accordance with international standards.

Values and Principles

The Quality Assurance Office at AlmaU is based on the values of transparency, accountability, trust, sustainability, academic integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We follow the principles of engaging the entire university community, applying both internal and external evaluation mechanisms, conducting regular data analysis, promoting a culture of quality, complying with national and international standards, and maintaining flexibility and adaptability in the face of change.

Institutional Research

Institutional research provides analytical support for decision-making and the strategic development of the university. It covers the quality of education, student and staff satisfaction, and supplies data for accreditations and rankings.

Accreditations and Rankings

The Accreditations and Rankings Department of the Quality Assurance Office coordinates AlmaU’s participation in national and international rankings, as well as supports the processes of institutional and program accreditation. The department’s work focuses on external quality evaluation, enhancing academic reputation, and ensuring compliance with international standards.

The Accreditation and Certification Committee of FIBAA accredited three AlmaU academic programs: “Hospitality and Restaurant Business,” “Public Relations,” and “Law.”

AlmaU ranked 1st in the National Ranking of Leading Humanities and Economics Universities of Kazakhstan by IQAA.

Almaty Management University (AlmaU) was ranked in the 1001–1500 band of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025.

AlmaU's Master's and MBA programs were included in the Eduniversal Best Masters & MBA Ranking 2024.

Teaching Quality Assessment Working Group

The Teaching Quality Assessment Working Group is an internal expert commission that analyzes the content and methodology of teaching, ensures compliance with academic standards, and develops recommendations for improving educational programs.

Academic Quality Assurance Committees

Each school and center at AlmaU has an Academic Quality Committee — a collegial body established to monitor, coordinate, and implement the quality assurance policy in education. The Committee includes both faculty members and students. It reports to the Vice-Rector for Academic Development and the dean of the respective school or center. The coordination and oversight of the Committees' activities are carried out by the Quality Assurance Office.
