She Matters – International Women’s Day: Solidarity & Action

12.03.2026

To celebrate International Women’s Day on 6th March, the AlmaU Students Development Center in collaboration with the student initiative “Qamqor – Women’s Safety” organized a series of interactive activities. The event highlighted the UN Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.

Students explored interactive zones where they could discuss self-worth and confidence, rethink social stereotypes and traditions, and learn about personal boundaries, rights, and safety.

Activities included:

  • Letter to Yourself – an interactive exercise for participants to write notes of support and gratitude to themselves.
  • “Tradition or Stereotype?” – an interactive game to challenge common beliefs and discuss them.
  • “Myth or Fact” – a knowledge check about rights and safety.
  • Presentation on the history of International Women’s Day.

The event featured a beautifully decorated space, a photo booth, and gifts for female participants.

The Qamqor project combines lectures, workshops, and a supportive community where women empower each other, learn to protect themselves, and expand their knowledge about rights and safety.
