In the future, innovation will play a key role in economic development, and universities will become centers of scientific and entrepreneurial activity. One of the most effective tools for integrating scientific research into the economy will be the creation of spin-off companies—new enterprises that will develop based on university research and focus on the commercialization of technologies. Universities like AlmaU will continue to actively implement this practice by establishing spin-off companies that help bring scientific discoveries to market, generating additional revenue for both the university and society.
The Technology Commercialization Center (TCC) of AlmaU, in partnership with the National Agrarian Science and Educational Centre (NASEC), will develop approaches to manage legal entities, the shares of which will be transferred to NASEC. Effective asset management through a commercialization strategy will enhance the competitiveness of agro-industrial complex (AIC) companies and attract investments by creating spin-off companies and implementing innovations.
Spin-off companies will enable the commercialization of university developments, bringing them to market and attracting investments through venture funds and public-private partnerships. These companies will focus on agricultural automation using drones and robots, as well as the implementation of biotechnology and sustainable agricultural technologies. This will provide new sources of income and facilitate the entry of Kazakhstani developments into international markets.
The TCC of AlmaU will develop commercialization strategies, assess assets, assist in creating business plans, and adapt international standards. This will allow companies to implement innovations, create new products, and enter into licensing agreements.
AlmaU and NASEC will also develop growth strategies through innovation and attract venture investments, accelerating the adoption of new technologies and strengthening the competitiveness of Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial companies on the global stage.
