Center for Sustainable Development & ESG

The main tasks of the center:

1. Implementation of projects commissioned by government agencies, international organizations (such as the UN, USAID, UNDP, European Commission, etc.), corporate business sector (ERG, TCO, KAZ Minerals, Samsung, Kazatomprom, etc.).
2. To demonstrate the university’s commitment to measure sustainability literacy of students center is conducting a systematic survey (Please find the survey at the bottom of the page).
3. To promote the development of international cooperation between AlmaU and universities and organizations from around the world on sustainable development.
4. Organizing and conducting corporate trainings and seminars on Sustainable Development Goals for NGOs and the corporate sector
5. Organization and holding of forums, conferences, strategic sessions, sections, round tables, seminars, debates on the topics of the Center for Sustainable Development.
6. Creation and development of the SDG sec Student Club
7. Popularization of the SDGs among schoolchildren and students, as well as the population of Kazakhstan

SDG Legion

The SDG Legion Project Office for Sustainable Development is a dynamic community of AlmaU students — like-minded individuals passionate about the ideas and practices of sustainability.
The Office aims to unite students who share common values of environmental care, social responsibility, and economic resilience.

Members of SDG Legion actively engage in diverse initiatives and projects promoting sustainable lifestyles and business practices. They organize educational events, workshops, lectures, and round-table discussions that address pressing sustainability issues. The Office also collaborates with professionals and experts in the field to create a space for knowledge exchange and experience sharing.

The overarching goal of SDG Legion as a student organization is to inspire and empower young leaders to develop innovative and sustainable projects that foster positive change in society and the natural environment
