As part of AlmaU working visit to Malaysia, on January 14, 2026, representatives of the university – President of AlmaU Assylbek Kozhakhmetov and Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office Akbope Ausadyk – visited AlmaU’s partner institution, Xiamen University Malaysia.
During the visit, an introductory campus tour was organized, allowing the AlmaU delegation to explore the university’s infrastructure, academic and research facilities, as well as its overall academic and student environment.
A working meeting was held with Prof. Dr. Zhang Ying, Vice President of Xiamen University Malaysia; Prof. Dr. Chen Yan, Dean of the School of Economics and Management; and representatives of the Global Engagement and Partnerships Office of Xiamen University Malaysia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further developing cooperation between AlmaU and Xiamen University Malaysia. Particular attention was given to opportunities for organizing joint summer schools for students, as well as other formats of academic collaboration aimed at enhancing students’ international educational experience.
A separate part of the visit was a meeting with students from Kazakhstan studying at Xiamen University Malaysia. The students shared their learning experiences, spoke about campus life and the multicultural educational environment, and proposed ideas for developing academic and student initiatives between the two universities.
The visit confirmed the mutual interest of AlmaU and Xiamen University Malaysia in strengthening their partnership and implementing joint educational projects in an international format.
