Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

Description

AlmaU University is actively working to achieve the 16th Sustainable Development Goal (Peace, Justice and strong institutions). The university has established various structures that facilitate interaction and collaboration between different stakeholders.
Since 2020, the School of Politics and Law has been holding the conference “Public Trust and Social Capital”. AlmaU University is a unique platform where the topic of public trust and prospects for the development of trust in society have been raised for 4 years, as well as representatives of various NGOs, politicians, etc. can gather.

The Academic Council and the Board of Trustees play a key role in developing strategies and policies aimed at maintaining transparency and accountability in educational activities. These councils include representatives of the academic community, business and the public, which ensures a variety of opinions and approaches.
Student clubs are also actively involved in the life of the university, organizing events and initiatives aimed at solving social and environmental problems. This allows students to develop leadership skills and actively participate in public life.
In addition, AlmaU regularly holds conferences with representatives of government agencies, local authorities and civil society. These events serve as a platform for discussing topical issues, sharing experiences and developing joint solutions, which contributes to the establishment of a constructive dialogue between the university and local communities.
The University is also implementing anti-corruption regulations to ensure the integrity and transparency of all processes. These measures help to create a trusting atmosphere and contribute to the sustainable development of the institute.

Zeynep College: Support for rural education. AlmaU has been developing education in rural areas for 14 years. The project “Support for rural teachers” has been in existence since 2008. 362 rural teachers have successfully completed training in leadership, managerial and pedagogical competencies and interactive and innovative teaching methods. This project is an example of sustainable social value creation that can be replicated by any other organization in the world. The social project is aimed at forming a group of school teachers from rural areas who have strong leadership qualities, managerial skills and are able to apply innovative teaching methods.
