AlmaU “Sketch Warm-up”: a fresh take on creativity

26.02.2026

On February 19, a master class titled “Sketch Warm-Up” was held at AlmaU on the first floor in the creative space Qaynar Bulaq, organized by Qara da Jasa Club. The event brought together students ready to explore creativity from a new perspective and try themselves in free sketch graphics.

Qara da Jasa Club is a student creative club that unites young artists and illustrators. The club organizes master classes and art events, contributing to the development of the university’s creative community.

The main goal of the meeting was to help participants unlock their creative potential, overcome the fear of drawing, and gain inspiring hands-on experience. Invited professional artists and illustrators introduced students to fast and intuitive graphic techniques that help free the hand, develop observation skills, and revive interest in drawing – even for those who have not held a pencil in a long time.

During the master class, participants completed a series of unconventional exercises:

  • quick drawing with the left hand;

  • two-handed drawing based on a photograph;

  • visualizing the mood of music using various art materials;

  • depicting their previous day in a sketch format.

These practices allowed students to step beyond привычного восприятия, trust their intuition, and freely express their ideas through visual language.

“We want every student to feel the freedom of creativity and realize that anyone can draw,” the illustrators noted on social media.

The warm atmosphere, professional support, and opportunity to experiment made the master class a bright event in AlmaU’s student life and inspired participants to continue their creative development.
