
On March 13, 2026, a cultural meeting titled “Shezhireli Qulaq Küy” took place at the AlmaU Open Library. The event was jointly organized by the QulaqKüi platform, the AlmaU Student Development Center, and the Tolyk Adam Institute.
During the meeting, the documentary film “Ustaz-Shakirt”, dedicated to the tradition of mentorship in the art of küy, was screened. The film highlighted the spiritual continuity in Kazakh küy art and the transmission of national heritage from generation to generation.

The honored guest of the evening was küyshi, a master of traditional küy art, Bılal Ysqaqov Alpanuly. He shared his thoughts on the history of küy and the mentor-student tradition, performing several küys. Additionally, Bılal Ysqaqov spoke about learning the intricacies of küy performance from Shaikhy, the grandson of the great küyshi Tättimbet.

He also presented the university with the book “Dombra Sazy”. The creators of the book are Aitqali Zhaimov, Bılal Ysqaqov, Karima Sakharbayeva, and Arman Zhaim.
The event was open to all students and staff of the university, providing participants with an opportunity to deeply appreciate the meaning and cultural richness of Kazakh küy art.
