On May 12, AlmaU hosted the Gemini Academy training course for university faculty and staff, dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence in educational and professional activities.
The event was organized as part of the university’s digital transformation initiatives and the implementation of a memorandum with Google partners on the introduction of the Google Workspace for Education program.
The training course was conducted by “STEM Solutions,” the official Google for Education partner in Central Asia, together with Akzat Kauysova, an AI and CLIL expert trainer and practitioner in implementing artificial intelligence in education.

During the training, participants explored the capabilities of Google AI tools, including Gemini, NotebookLM, Canvas, and Gems, and reviewed practical cases of using generative artificial intelligence in teaching, preparing educational materials, and organizing the learning process. Special attention was given to practical activities: faculty and staff completed tasks in Gemini, studied the basics of prompt engineering, learned to generate texts and presentations, and systematized educational materials using NotebookLM.

On May 13, a similar Gemini Academy training course was held for university students, aimed at developing digital competencies and mastering modern artificial intelligence tools. During the course, students learned the practical use of Gemini in academic activities, effective interaction with neural networks, methods for creating presentations and working with texts, as well as the capabilities of NotebookLM for analyzing and organizing study materials.
The Gemini Academy courses became an important step in developing the university’s innovative educational environment and integrating modern artificial intelligence technologies into the learning process.
