AlmaU hosted an exclusive master class by Nobel Laureate Professor Konstantin Novoselov

On May 26, AlmaU hosted a master class by Konstantin Novoselov, one of the most influential scientists of our time, Nobel Prize laureate, and a researcher whose discoveries have had a profound impact on the development of global science and technology.

The master class was opened by AlmaU Rector Timur Buldybayev, who emphasized the importance of advancing science, innovation, and international cooperation.

Talgat Kantayev, Co-Founder of Investbanq, a partner of the university, also delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting the importance of supporting scientific initiatives and expanding opportunities for the development of science in Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, Professor Novoselov spoke about the history of the discovery of graphene, a material that fundamentally changed the perception of modern scientific possibilities. He also shared his vision on the future of technology, science, and global innovation.

Key topics discussed during the master class included:
● which technologies will become the next global breakthrough;
● which scientific directions are being developed in leading laboratories around the world;
● how new discoveries will impact business, the economy, and everyday life;

The event also featured a Q&A session with invited professors and researchers in advanced materials and 2D technologies.

Professor Qi Ge – researcher and head of the I-FIM international program at the National University of Singapore, specializing in nanotechnology, next-generation materials, and applications of 2D materials in energy, environment, flexible electronics, and smart technologies.

Professor Jin Zhan – Research Fellow and Visiting Professor at the Institute for Functional and Intelligent Materials, National University of Singapore, and Director of the Chongqing 2D Materials Research Institute. His research focuses on graphene, 2D materials, and next-generation intelligent composites.

The master class brought together students, researchers, business representatives, and everyone interested in the future of science and technology.
