AlmaU has every reason to be proud: according to the results of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, our university has significantly improved its position, moving from the 1001–1500 band to the 801–1000 band among the world’s leading universities.
The THE Impact Rankings assess how universities around the globe contribute to achieving the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ranging from quality education and gender equality to environmental sustainability and social development.
This year, AlmaU demonstrated strong performance across a wide range of areas, including Quality Education, Good Health and Well-being, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life on Land, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Partnerships for the Goals.
AlmaU achieved particularly strong results in three Sustainable Development Goals:
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
- SDG 5 – Gender Equality
- SDG 15 – Life on Land
For us, this achievement represents much more than an improved ranking position. It is recognition of AlmaU’s continuous efforts to create a high-quality educational environment, promote the principles of equality and inclusiveness, implement social and environmental initiatives, and make a meaningful contribution to the sustainable development of society.
We sincerely thank our faculty, staff, students, and partners. This achievement has been made possible through our collective efforts—and this is only the beginning.
