AlmaU Expands Cooperation with Leading Organizations and Universities of the Republic of Korea

Almaty Management University (AlmaU) hosted a delegation from the Republic of Korea to discuss opportunities for expanding international cooperation in leadership development, public administration, human resource management, and the implementation of joint educational and research initiatives.

The Korean delegation was led by Prof. Pan Suk Kim, Senior Advisor, former Minister of the Ministry of Personnel Management of the Republic of Korea, and former Member of the United Nations International Civil Service Commission (ICSC). The delegation also included representatives of the Korea Development Institute (KDI)—one of South Korea’s leading government-funded policy research institutes specializing in economic development, public administration, and public policy—as well as representatives of Seoul Women’s University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and UBION.

Representing AlmaU were Sholpan Tazabek, Vice-Rector for Global Partnerships; Renata Kudaibergenova, Vice-Rector for Research and Commercialization; Aigerim Yelibayeva, Director of the Institute of Leadership; Arman Komekbayev, Dean of the School of Digital Technologies and Economics; Aliya Akpayeva, Director of the International Cooperation Department; Aleksei Belianin, Professor of the School of Digital Technologies and Economics; Anastassiya Lipovka, Associate Professor of the School of Management; and Zhaniya Khaibullina, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development.

Particular attention was devoted to human resource management, public sector capacity building, and the exchange of best practices in public administration. The Korean delegation shared the Republic of Korea’s experience in training civil servants and expressed its interest in developing cooperation with AlmaU in this area.

The guests highly appreciated AlmaU’s contribution to the development of human capital in Kazakhstan, highlighting the important role of the Institute of Leadership in preparing future leaders and public sector professionals. The participants also discussed prospects for cooperation with the Central Asian Case Lab, including the development of joint case studies, research projects, and initiatives in applied artificial intelligence, leadership, and management education.

Prof. Seung Yong Rho of Seoul Women’s University expressed the University’s interest in strengthening its partnership with AlmaU, emphasizing the strong potential for joint academic programs, research projects, and academic initiatives.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their commitment to expanding long-term cooperation through joint projects, academic exchanges, and strategic partnerships between AlmaU and leading organizations and universities of the Republic of Korea.
