AlmaU to host TOLYQ ADAM 2026 International Conference on whole-person development

19.10.2026

On October 30-31, 2026, the School of Social Sciences and Transformative Humanities (SSSTH) at AlmaU will host the international conference “The University of the Future as an Environment for Whole-Person Development: The Heritage of the Great Steppe and Contemporary Solutions.”

The conference will bring together representatives of the international academic community, researchers, and experts to discuss the role of universities in fostering whole-person development amid technological, social, and cultural change.

Participants will explore the role of the university of the future in an era of artificial intelligence and changing professions, as well as contemporary educational approaches that foster critical thinking, responsibility, and independence. Special attention will be given to the heritage of the Great Steppe and its significance for whole-person development.

The central event of the conference will be the presentation of the TOLYQ ADAM educational model, which has been implemented at AlmaU since 2023. The model draws on a contemporary interpretation of Abai’s philosophy of harmony among reason, heart, and will, and aims to support the holistic development of the individual. Participants will learn about its conceptual foundations, educational framework, implementation experience, and outcomes.

The conference speakers will include international experts in history, philosophy, social anthropology, pedagogy, and cultural heritage, alongside researchers and representatives of Kazakhstan’s academic community.

Dates: October 30-31, 2026
Venue: AlmaU Atrium, Almaty, Kazakhstan.
