On 17th November 2025, first-year students of the “Restaurant and Hotel Business” educational programme at AlmaU’s School of Management and Tourism visited Yurta Boutique Hotel. The visit took place as part of the “Introduction to Hotel and Foodservice Industries” course, under the guidance of lecturer A.M. Surina.
We believe that hospitality cannot be learned solely in the classroom. That is why we enlighten, teach, and share experience where the profession comes to life every day. Hotel representatives gave students an inside look at their work: how service is organised, what shapes a guest’s impression, and what makes a boutique hotel special. Such meetings benefit everyone involved. From their very first year, students see the profession in action, connect theory with practice, and interact with practising professionals, which means they gain a better understanding of the direction in which
they want to grow.
The hotel gets to know future professionals at an early stage and can invite the most motivated students for internships. The partner also gains a fresh perspective from the younger generation. For the professional community, this means strengthening ties between the university and business, raising hospitality standards, and training specialists who will enhance Kazakhstan’s appeal as a tourist destination.
We thank the Yurta Boutique Hotel team for their openness and warm welcome! Practice, partnership, and hands-on experience from the very first days of study are part of our approach to teaching.
