Voluntary Health Insurance at AlmaU: 10 Years of Caring for the Health and Well-being of Employees
Caring for the health and well-being of employees is one of AlmaU’s top priorities and an integral part of the university’s corporate culture. A key element of the employees’ social package is the voluntary health insurance (VHI) program, which has been successfully operating at the University for its tenth year.
Program Terms and Principles of Choice
The VHI program is provided annually to full-time staff members for whom AlmaU is their primary place of work, following the successful completion of their probationary period. This allows employees to receive qualified medical care and use additional opportunities to maintain their health.
An important feature of the program is the right to independently choose a medical organization. Currently, employees can select one of the partner clinics. To learn more about the terms of service, employees are invited to attend Open Days organised by the University, where they can receive consultations and explore the full range of available medical services.
Caring for Loved Ones and Special Offers
The program is focused not only on employees, but also on their families. Employees can extend their medical insurance to close relatives under additional payment terms.
In addition, partner clinics provide AlmaU employees with special discounts on certain paid medical services that are not included in the standard VHI package, making it possible to receive additional care on more favorable terms.
Feedback as the Basis for Development
The VHI program is built on the principles of open dialogue and staff engagement. When choosing providers, the university relies on the results of annual employee satisfaction surveys. These studies evaluate:
- quality and accessibility of medical care;
- completeness of insurance coverage;
- level of service and customer orientation of the clinics;
- general experience of interaction with medical organizations.
This approach makes it possible to objectively assess the quality of services and flexibly improve the program taking into account the real needs of employees.
Investment in Human Capital
AlmaU views voluntary medical insurance not just as an element of the social package, but as a long-term investment in the health and quality of life of the entire university community. Ten years of experience in implementing the program, regular feedback monitoring, the freedom to choose clinics, and caring for employees’ families reflect the university’s commitment to forming a comfortable, supportive, and socially responsible work environment.
