AlmaU supports quality education through continuing education, experiential learning, faculty development and accessible community programmes.
Almaty Management University (AlmaU) contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive learning opportunities, professional development, experiential education and community-oriented educational initiatives. The University’s approach extends beyond degree programmes to encompass lifelong learning, short courses, public educational events, school outreach, international educational partnerships and professional development for academic and administrative staff. During the 2025–2026 academic year, AlmaU further strengthened its educational activities through international experiential learning programmes, sustainability education and faculty development initiatives.
From 19 to 29 May 2026, AlmaU, in partnership with Lehigh University (USA), implemented the Humanitarian Design and Social Entrepreneurship (HDSE) Leadership Intensive. The programme brought together students, young researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the United States.
AlmaU integrates community engagement and experiential learning into its educational approach through Service Learning initiatives. Service Learning combines academic learning with practical engagement in addressing social and community needs.
In May–June 2026, AlmaU strengthened its cooperation with Lehigh University through the Global Social Impact Fellowship (GSIF). AlmaU faculty and staff participated as mentors for international student teams developing solutions to environmental, social and technological challenges in Kazakhstan.
AlmaU promotes sustainability education through academic initiatives, applied projects, professional training and partnerships. The Center for Sustainable Development supports the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into educational activities. On 8 October 2025, AlmaU signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with SDG Alliance to support joint educational initiatives, practical training, sustainability-related projects and collaboration with industry.
AlmaU supports continuous professional development for faculty and administrative employees through internal training and professional learning opportunities. The University’s development priorities include teaching methodology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, inclusive education and sustainability. The March 2026 faculty development programme focusing on AI, Digital and ESG illustrates the University’s efforts to strengthen teaching competencies and encourage innovative approaches to curriculum development.
