Energy-Efficient Infrastructure Across Campus

Energy efficiency is an important component of AlmaU’s sustainable campus management approach. The University has installed approximately 1,300 LED lighting fixtures across its campus facilities, replacing conventional lighting with more energy-efficient alternatives.

Energy Consumption and Campus Operations

Approximately 3,500 students and employees use AlmaU’s campus facilities daily. The University’s electricity requirements include classroom lighting, administrative operations, information technology equipment, ventilation, air conditioning and other campus services.

International Collaboration: AlmaU and Lehigh University Student Research

An important dimension of AlmaU’s sustainability activities is its collaboration with Lehigh University (United States)through student research and applied learning. Students from AlmaU and Lehigh University are working on a longitudinal research initiative examining the performance of PureAura portable air purification systems under the environmental conditions of Almaty.

10,500 kWh × 22 operational days = 231,000 kWh/month.
10,500 kWh × 264 operational days = 2,772,000 kWh/year.
