On June 19, 2026, AlmaU hosted the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BBB Korea (Republic of Korea).
The signing of the MoU marks a new stage in the development of cooperation under the KT&G Scholarship Foundation Korean Center at AlmaU project, which aims to promote the Korean language and culture while strengthening educational and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of AlmaU and BBB Korea. The Memorandum was signed on behalf of AlmaU by Sholpan Tazabek, Vice-Rector for Global Partnerships, and on behalf of BBB Korea by Mee Hei Choie, Secretary General.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the achievements of the Korean Center over the past year. During this period, four semesters of Korean language courses were successfully completed, dozens of cultural and educational events and workshops were organized, the first certificate awarding ceremony was held, and a number of initiatives were implemented to promote academic and cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.
The signed Memorandum reflects the parties’ commitment to developing long-term cooperation in the fields of education and culture, supporting the further development of the Kazakhstan Korean Center at AlmaU, sharing educational resources, implementing joint projects, and strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.

As part of the ceremony, guests also learned more about the activities of AlmaU and BBB Korea through institutional presentation videos, followed by an exchange of commemorative gifts and a group photo session.
The signing of the Memorandum opens new opportunities for implementing joint educational, cultural, and international initiatives, while further strengthening the Korean Center as a platform for learning the Korean language, promoting Korean culture, and enhancing cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.
