On 3 November 2026, AlmaU hosted a meeting with a delegation from Tianjin University (China) to discuss the development of cooperation between the two universities and the prospects for implementing joint educational programmes.
At the beginning of the meeting, representatives of AlmaU and Tianjin University introduced their respective institutions, outlining their key areas of activity and opportunities for further collaboration.
The Tianjin University delegation included Zheng Chundong, Vice Dean of the College of Management and Economics; Bai Yanzhuang, MBA Programme Director; Meng Junna, MEM Programme Director; and Liu Mengqing, Manager of the International Cooperation Office.
AlmaU was represented by Sholpan Tazabek, Vice-Rector for Global Partnerships; Kseniya Yuzhaninova-Karadenizli, Dean of the Graduate School of Business; Azamat Auezkhanuly, Dean of the School of Management; Aigerim Yelibayeva, Director of the Executive Education, Leadership and Consulting Department at the Graduate School of Business; Aliya Akpayeva, Director of the International Cooperation Department; Nargiz Akhmetova, Head of the Center for International Programs and Mobility; and Ilyar Bakhtiyar, Senior Chinese Language Instructor at the School of Transformative Humanities (SSTH).
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to develop joint educational programmes involving AlmaU’s Graduate School of Business, as well as promising areas of cooperation in double degree programmes. Particular attention was given to further strengthening academic and educational ties between the universities.
The meeting marked an important step in strengthening the partnership between AlmaU and Tianjin University. Since 2025, cooperation between the universities has been carried out under a memorandum aimed at developing academic and educational ties. Both parties expressed their interest in further expanding the partnership and continuing discussions on the implementation of joint educational programmes, including double degree programmes.
