
On 29 September 2026, Almaty Management University welcomed Professor Konrad Juszkiewicz, MD, MPH, PhD, Senior Adviser to the Rector of WSEI University in Lublinfor Global Health, on a working visit.
Professor Konrad Juszkiewicz is an international expert inpublic and global health, epidemiology, and international project management. His professional expertise encompasses global health security, the prevention of infectious and zoonotic diseases, the monitoring and evaluation of healthcare programmes, and capacity building.
Professor Juszkiewicz has extensive professional experience in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. For morethan ten years, he served as a Visiting Professor at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, collaborating with the Departments of Public Health and Microbiology. He also coordinated the implementation of Fogarty/NIH programmes in Kazakhstan in cooperation with Harvard University and Boston Children’s Hospital. Based on data collected in Almaty, his doctoral research focused on evaluating the effectiveness of tuberculosis prevention among people living with HIV.
WSEI University in Lublin is a Polish higher educationinstitution committed to practice-oriented education andinternational academic cooperation. The university offers programmes in management, information technology, logistics, psychology, physiotherapy, nursing, and otherdisciplines, while actively participating in research andinternational projects.
The meeting focused on the further development ofcooperation between AlmaU and WSEI. Representativesof both universities discussed prospective areas of collaboration, including joint educational and research initiatives, academic mobility, the exchange of expertise among faculty members and professionals, and the organisation of joint academic and educational events.
Particular attention was given to opportunities forinterdisciplinary cooperation in management, psychology, and public health. Combining the academic expertise ofAlmaU and WSEI could create new opportunities forstudents, faculty members, and researchers from bothinstitutions.
