
On April 24, AlmaU hosted a round table discussion titled “Mental and Psychological Health in the Era of Digitalization: Risks and Resources.”
The event brought together experts, practitioners, representatives of the academic community, and students of the Sharmanov School of Health Sciences to discuss the key challenges of the digital age.

The aim of the meeting was to create a cross-sector expert platform for knowledge exchange and the development of practice-oriented recommendations to strengthen psychological well-being in the context of digitalization.
The opening remarks were delivered by the Rector of the university, Timur Kerimbekovich Buldybayev.
Among the speakers were leading specialists in psychology, education, and social sciences, including the President of the Kazakh Psychological Society Mukhan Atenovich Perlenbetov, public figure Aruzhan Sain, as well as representatives of academic and educational institutions, practicing experts, and students.

The program covered key topics such as:
- the impact of digitalization on society and mental health;
- prevention of juvenile delinquency;
- development of inclusive education and support for children with special educational needs;
- modern approaches in psychotherapy;
- prevention of emotional burnout;
- digital environment and addictive behavior;
- development of psychological resilience;
- fostering awareness and emotional intelligence among youth.
The event was held in an open dialogue format and concluded with discussion, exchange of views, and summary of outcomes. Participants emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to mental health issues and the need for further development of preventive and educational initiatives in the context of digital transformation.
