On 10-11 April 2026, Almaty Management University (AlmaU) took part in the 31st China International Education Exhibition Tour, one of the largest international events in the field of global education.
This year marked a significant milestone, as Kazakhstan was represented in China for the first time with a national pavilion, which became an important step toward strengthening the country’s international educational presence. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulzat Kobenova.
AlmaU was represented at the exhibition by Rector Timur Buldibayev and Deputy Dean for International Cooperation and Accreditation of the School of Digital Technologies and Economics, Moldir Malshy.
Within the framework of participation, the university was presented on an international platform, consultations were conducted with prospective students, and negotiations were held with educational agencies and partner organizations.
As part of the development of its partnership network, discussions were initiated with several universities and organizations, including Beijing Normal University regarding academic cooperation, North America International Education regarding the launch of dual degree programmes, as well as CHEER Education, Global Education, EpicQuest Education Group, and British University Vietnam.
Special attention was given to cooperation with governmental structures: an initial contact was established with the China Scholarship Council, discussions were held regarding the potential to attract students through government scholarship programmes, and the subsequent development of formal cooperation proposals was outlined.
In addition, opportunities for digital promotion of AlmaU in the Chinese market were presented during the negotiations. Participation in the exhibition became an important milestone in expanding the university’s international presence, strengthening its partnership network, and advancing strategic directions of cooperation in higher education.
