AlmaU Students Participated in the Burgundy School of Business Summer School in France
Students from Almaty Management University (AlmaU) successfully participated in the Burgundy School of Business (BSB) Summer School, held in France in June–July 2026.
Founded in 1899, Burgundy School of Business is one of the world’s oldest business schools and belongs to the prestigious top 1% of business schools worldwide, holding the internationally recognized Triple Crown accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA).
During the Summer School, AlmaU students completed two academic modules: “Authentic Leadership & Human Centered Innovation (Design Thinking)” and “Empowering Sustainability: Transformative Pathways in Consumption.”
Throughout the first module, participants explored contemporary leadership approaches and learned the Human Centered Design Thinking methodology. They applied their knowledge to solve a real business challenge provided by a local company, enhancing their teamwork, critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
The second module focused on sustainability and responsible consumption. Students examined key topics such as energy conservation, sustainable mobility, responsible consumption, sustainable diets, and waste management. The programme combined theoretical learning with practical activities, enabling participants to develop solutions to current environmental and social challenges.
Each module consisted of 25 teaching hours (4 ECTS credits) and was complemented by a cultural programme, giving students the opportunity to experience French culture, build international networks, and exchange ideas with participants from around the world.
Participation in the BSB Summer School provided AlmaU students with valuable international academic experience, contributing to the development of their professional competencies, leadership potential, and intercultural communication skills.
AlmaU Students Successfully Completed the Excelia Summer School in France
Students from Almaty Management University (AlmaU) successfully participated in the Excelia International Summer School, held in France from 31 May to 13 June 2026.
Excelia is ranked among the top 1% of business schools worldwide and holds the prestigious Triple Crown accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA), reflecting its high academic standards and global recognition.
As part of the programme, AlmaU students completed the intensive course “Family Business & Entrepreneurship,” which focused on key issues related to family business management, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
During the two-week programme, participants explored the essential aspects of managing family-owned businesses, including corporate governance, succession planning, digital transformation, financial management, human capital development, and innovation.
The programme placed a strong emphasis on practical learning. Students became familiar with modern entrepreneurial approaches such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup, and Effectuation, while also studying contemporary family business management practices. They applied their knowledge by working on real business cases, analysing current challenges, and developing practical recommendations for companies.
The programme concluded with a team case study, during which students presented their proposed solutions to current challenges faced by family businesses and defended their projects before faculty members and business representatives.
The programme consisted of 60 teaching hours and awarded 7.5 ECTS credits. In addition to academic sessions, participants visited companies, explored the French entrepreneurial ecosystem, and took part in cultural activities in the cities of La Rochelle and Tours. The international learning environment enabled students to exchange experiences with peers from around the world while strengthening their professional and intercultural competencies.
Participation in the Excelia Summer School provided AlmaU students with valuable international experience, allowing them to deepen their knowledge of entrepreneurship and family business, enhance their practical business problem-solving skills, and develop competencies that are highly valued in today’s global economy.
AlmaU Students Successfully Completed an International Hospitality Internship in Vietnam
Students of Almaty Management University successfully completed an international hospitality internship programme in Vietnam and returned to Kazakhstan with valuable hands-on experience gained in the global hospitality industry.
The programme was organized by Saigon Business School (SBS) in partnership with leading five-star hotels and resorts in Vietnam. AlmaU students completed their internship at Vinpearl Nha Trang, one of Vietnam’s leading five-star resort complexes. The programme combined professional industry placement, academic supervision, cultural immersion, and comprehensive student support throughout the internship.
During the programme, students received practical training in various hotel departments, including Front Office, Guest Experience, Kitchen, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Entertainment, and Spa operations.
The internship followed a structured training plan jointly supervised by industry mentors from the host hotel and academic coordinators from Saigon Business School, ensuring that students achieved both practical learning outcomes and academic objectives.
Throughout the internship, AlmaU students applied the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies to real-world hospitality operations. They strengthened their customer service skills, teamwork, communication abilities, and adaptability while working in a multicultural and international environment.
In addition, participants gained valuable insight into the daily operations of key hospitality departments, became familiar with international service standards, and acquired practical experience at one of Vietnam’s premier hospitality destinations.
The international internship became an important milestone in the students’ professional development, enabling them to strengthen their practical competencies, broaden their professional perspectives, and enhance their readiness for successful careers in the global hospitality industry.
