The AlmaU team proudly secured second place at the prestigious University Chess Cup, which brought together the strongest student teams from across Kazakhstan. A total of 34 universities participated in the competition.
The tournament was intense: our students maintained a leading position throughout the matches but ultimately placed second based on tie-break criteria. Nevertheless, this is a remarkable achievement and a proud moment for AlmaU!
AlmaU Team Members:
- Zhangir Bizhigitov – 3rd year, School of Economics and Finance
- Mukhtar Aynaqul – 1st year, School of Politics and Law
- Diana Mikheeva – 1st year, School of Politics and Law
- Dias Alimbetov – 1st year, School of Management
In line with the “Tolyq Adam” philosophy, AlmaU strives to develop not only professional skills but also intellectual qualities — such as logical thinking, concentration, strategic vision, and the ability to make well-balanced decisions. Chess as a sport fully aligns with these goals, as it enhances cognitive abilities, composure, and analytical thinking under time pressure.
Congratulations to our team on their success — and best wishes for future victories in intellectual competitions!
