
On July 16, 2026, Almaty Management University (AlmaU) welcomed an official delegation from the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The visit took place within the framework of the International Student Education & Industry Site Exposure Program organized by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The delegation consisted of 30 students and 4 faculty members. Among the representatives of the delegation were Rajesh Kumar Dharmani, Minister of Technical Education of Himachal Pradesh; Rohit Rathour, Director of the Department of Technical Education; and Ravinder Kumar, Deputy Secretary of the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The meeting began with a welcome speech by AlmaU Vice Rector for Academic Development Assel Aryn. She greeted the guests, introduced the university’s activities, and emphasized the importance of strengthening international academic cooperation between Kazakhstan and India.
Kazakhstan was selected as the destination for the program due to the country’s active development of a modern education system. The Indian delegation showed particular interest in Kazakhstan’s strong focus on STEM education, multilingual learning (Kazakh, Russian, and English), the implementation of modern educational approaches aimed at developing critical thinking and practical skills, as well as continuous professional development of educators.
As part of the visit, a series of lectures by AlmaU faculty members was organized for the participants.
Dmitriy Pak, Lecturer and International Business and ESG Division Lead at the Graduate School of Business, AlmaU, Research Fellow at Karaganda Buketov University, and Consulting Practitioner in ESG and Sustainable Development, delivered a lecture titled “Sustainable Engineering & Kazakhstan’s Industrial Landscape: How Can Engineering Help Build Kazakhstan’s Sustainable Future?” During the session, participants learned about modern approaches to sustainable development, the role of engineering solutions in Kazakhstan’s industrial development, and how ESG approaches contribute to building a sustainable economy and responsible business practices.
Dmitriy Ogai also delivered a lecture dedicated to the academic discipline Monetary Economics. During the presentation, he introduced the participants to the course content, which covers key theories of money, principles of money supply formation, the functions of money in the economy, as well as international aspects of currency circulation and exchange that play an important role in global trade and the world economy.
Aigerim Sagintayeva also conducted a lecture. She is a Project Manager with more than eight years of experience in entrepreneurial education, innovation program development, and university transformation. The topic of her session was Cross-Cultural Communication, Ethics and Responsibility. During the lecture, participants discussed the principles of effective communication between representatives of different cultures, the importance of cultural awareness in an international environment, and the role of ethics and social responsibility in professional activities.
The visit of the delegation became another important step in strengthening partnerships between AlmaU and educational organizations in India. Such initiatives contribute to the development of international cooperation, the exchange of best educational practices, and the creation of new opportunities for joint academic projects.
