On October 23, 2023, the third session dedicated to the creation of an atlas of new professions and competencies in the fields of creative industries, information technology and communications started at Almaty Management University.
The main goal of the session is to conduct research work in the format of focus groups, in which AlmaU, representatives of Satpayev University as part of the Foresight session and the Almaty City Development Center will take part.
This event is a continuation of previous sessions, which covered such important areas as construction and architecture, logistics, service and hospitality. As part of the research work, which will last two days, a list of future specialties for the next 10-15 years will be determined. This event is important for identifying promising professions and competencies in the evolution of the city of Almaty.
The opening of the session was attended by the rector of AlmaU Gulnara Kurenkeeva, the representative of the Almaty City Development Center Aliya Maulenova, the head of the project office of the republican project “Mamandygym – Bolashaghym” Zhanna Tulegenovna, the head of the project “Atlas of new professions and competencies of the city of Almaty” Dana Shayakhmet and other guests.

The creative industry, IT and communications are important areas for us in which we see many prospects. We launched a master’s degree in creative industries management and see this as a necessity for development.”
At the beginning, Gulnar Turdalievna emphasized the importance of the Foresight session and large-scale research for society: “We need to change people, we need to educate people through education.”
Maulenova Aliya further noted that “Today we will carry out significant analytical work, which will become the basis for the development of a strategic project for the development of entrepreneurship and education.”
Details of the work progress were presented by Zhanna Tulegenovna, including the Foresight team, which will collaborate with session participants to help generate ideas.
Let us remind you that the first meeting of the Foresight session took place on September 27, 2023. This project is being implemented within the framework of the “Program for increasing population incomes until 2029” adopted by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
