On August 6, 2024 AlmaU Rector Gulnar Kurenkeeva, Vice Rector for Global Partnership Sholpan Tazabek, as well as Dean of the School of Transformative Humanities Nurken Aubakir met with the Education Attache of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Mr. Ayhan Korkmaz, Consulate employee Raihan Isa. The meeting was held within the opening of the Turkish language course at AlmaU and the acceptance of Turkish language teacher Dr. Yavuz Zhemalettin into the university walls.
Dr. Zemalletin Yavuz, who graduated with a doctorate in Turkish Language and Literature from the Institute of Social Sciences, Trakia University, is a qualified specialist with many years of experience in teaching. In the academic year 2024-2025 Dr. Yavuz will start teaching Turkish as a foreign language within the language module of bachelor’s degree programs. It is also planned to open corporate courses for teachers and university staff.
As part of this meeting, a tour of the AlmaU campus was also conducted. The guests visited various studios, laboratories and classrooms of our university. The Education Attaché of the Republic of Turkey also recorded a video message in the Jalinga studio to the students of AlmaU, where he announced the opportunity to study in Turkey to the 10 best students of our university.
The University expressed its deep gratitude to Mr. Ayhan Korkmaz and Zhemalletin Yavuz for creating such an educational opportunity, the ultimate goal of which will be to strengthen trade-economic and socio-cultural relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey through educational partnership.
