On 10 October 2026, as part of his working visit to Bishkek, Assylbek Kozhakhmetov, President and Founder of AlmaU, met with Dogdurbek Chontoev, Rector of Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University.
During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation between the two universities, current developments in higher education, and opportunities to strengthen international academic ties. Particular attention was given to expanding inter-university cooperation and exploring opportunities for joint educational and research initiatives.
The participants exchanged views on further developing a mutually beneficial partnership, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting was also attended by Didar Mardanov, Advisor to the President of AlmaU. Representing Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University were Baktybek Keldibekov, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations, and Saadat Shermatova, Head of the Department of Academic Mobility, Education Export and Industry-Specific Master’s Programmes.
The meeting marked another step towards strengthening academic relations between the two universities and creating new opportunities for future cooperation.
