AlmaU becomes a member of the Turkic Universities Union (TURKUNIB)

03.11.2026

AlmaU continues to expand its international academic cooperation and strengthen its position within the educational landscape of the Turkic world. University has been a full member of the Turkic Universities Union (TURKUNIB) since May 20, 2024. The official certificate confirming the University’s membership was issued in Istanbul on September 1, 2026.

TURKUNIB (Turkic Universities Union) is an international university platform operating under the auspices of the Organization of Turkic States and aimed at fostering cooperation among higher education institutions across the Turkic world. Today, the Union brings together 170 universities from seven countries: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

One of the key areas of TURKUNIB’s activities is the promotion of academic mobility. The Union implements the Orhun Exchange Programme, which provides students and academic staff with opportunities to study, teach, and engage in professional exchange at universities in participating countries.

In addition to academic mobility, the Union’s activities encompass the development of joint research projects, the exchange of expertise among universities, the enhancement of educational standards, capacity building, and the strengthening of cultural ties.

Membership in TURKUNIB provides AlmaU with additional opportunities to strengthen partnerships with universities across the Turkic states, promote international academic mobility, and participate in joint educational and research initiatives.
