Responsible Employment and Decent Working Conditions

AlmaU provides employment opportunities across teaching, research, academic administration, student services and campus operations. According to previously published institutional information, the University supports approximately 500 jobs, contributing to employment and professional development within Kazakhstan’s higher education sector.

Employee Rights, Non-Discrimination and Institutional Accountability

AlmaU recognises that decent work requires more than compliance with employment legislation. It also depends on fair treatment, access to institutional support and mechanisms for addressing workplace concerns. The University maintains an Ombudsman institution established in 2014.

Graduate Employability and Career Development

AlmaU’s Career Development Center supports students and graduates in preparing for employment and establishing connections with potential employers. The Center organises career fairs, training sessions, seminars, masterclasses, employer presentations, guest lectures and visits to companies.

Career Accelerator Program 2026: Preparing Students for the Labour Market

In March–May 2026, AlmaU implemented the Career Accelerator Program (CAP), a five-week initiative designed to strengthen students’ practical employability skills. The programme began on 28 March 2026 and concluded in May.

Entrepreneurship and Startup Development

Entrepreneurship is a defining component of AlmaU’s educational and institutional mission. The University supports students in developing business ideas, testing entrepreneurial concepts and engaging with mentors and industry experts.

International Social Entrepreneurship with Lehigh University

In May 2026, AlmaU collaborated with Lehigh University in implementing the Humanitarian Design and Social Entrepreneurship (HDSE) Leadership Intensive. The programme brought together students from Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the United States to develop practical responses to social and environmental challenges.
