AlmaU works to reduce barriers to education and participation through financial assistance, inclusion measures and student support.
AlmaU is committed to promoting equal opportunities in education and university life. The University seeks to ensure that students have equitable access to quality education regardless of race, colour, national or ethnic origin, nationality, gender, gender identity, age, disability, religion or belief, socioeconomic background, or other characteristics protected under applicable law.
Financial barriers remain a significant obstacle to participation in higher education. AlmaU addresses these barriers through educational grants, tuition discounts and financial support mechanisms.
An important example of AlmaU’s commitment to reducing inequality is the Unlimited Opportunities initiative implemented through its Graduate School of Business. The programme supports access to executive and postgraduate business education for people with disabilities. Under the University’s published 2024–2025 regulations, winners of the Unlimited Opportunities competition are eligible for 100% social grants covering MBA tuition for the full period of study, subject to the programme’s conditions.
AlmaU’s Endowment supports the Raqmet, AlmaU! charitable initiative. The project focuses on expanding access to higher education for students from socially vulnerable backgrounds, including orphaned students and students with disabilities.
AlmaU recognises the importance of adapting educational practices to the needs of diverse learners. The University has established a Regulation on Inclusive Education and provides institutional guidance relating to inclusive teaching and student support. In May 2024, AlmaU organised the Spring School “Inclusive Education: From Basics to Advanced Methods.”
AlmaU provides psychological support services for students, faculty members, employees and parents. The University’s Psychological Service offers individual consultations, group activities and educational programmes addressing emotional well-being, adaptation, stress management, self-confidence and interpersonal communication. During the 2025–2026 academic year, the service’s published activities included student awareness initiatives, psychological support events and workshops.
Access to suitable accommodation can be an important factor in reducing educational inequalities, particularly for students from other regions. AlmaU’s published SDG information identifies two student accommodation facilities:
